Let's Journey Together!

The Gift of Being Thunderstruck
Ancient religions often described the "voice" of the divine coming through thunder and lightning (which I'm experiencing even as I write this on Wednesday afternoon!). But we do something similar, describing experiences of insight as "seeing the light" or as something that "rocked my world." So here's a possible connection I'm contemplating: Storms of life can make way for flashes of insight, like the sun breaking through the clouds. And those moments of sudden clarity can provide direction, helping us to negotiate life's path and see our unique place in the world. Our Lenten journey of introspection invites us to open our senses in the midst of the storm!

Check out Don Shaw's Blog!
Inspired by "The Stonecatchers' Song of Sorrow" a chapter in Bryan Stevenson's book, Just Mercy, Don Shaw has created a blog to recognize stonecatchers, the people and organizations that catch the stones that are thrown at or placed in the path of the marginalized, vulnerable and victimized, which prevent them from realizing the recognition, respect, and rights a just world should afford everyone. Check it out.
