Let's Journey Together!

We have lost 2 long-time members
Our condolences to the family of Nita Percival, who died this week.
Calling hours are today from 4-7 pm at Hayes, Huling, Carmon Funeral Home, and a memorial service will take place at the church Saturday at 1pm.
We also learned Thursday of the death of Lee Hart, a member of First Church for more than 40 years. She leaves her sister Retie Johnson, her husband Dave, and cherished family and friends. A memorial service will take place at F
irst Church at a date still to be decided.

SUNDAY SCHOOLHOUSE
It's a happening place!
All children go directly to the Gathering Room in the basement.
Age 4 to grade 2 will move later into Godly Play.
Nursery Care for our youngest is always available.
The new youth spaces are beautiful! Think about inviting friends to visit us this fall!
Our theme this week is:
THE JESUS AWARDS
Who did Jesus think
were life's big winners?

CONCERT THIS SUNDAY
October 4th, 4pm
in the sanctuary
To BENEFIT our 2016 Summer Mission Trip
This is a one-hour musical performance generously offered by the Tapestry Singers to help raise money for our summer mission trip. Mission trips change lives, but they also cost money. This church gives so much every year to help our youth get this service experience. This is an easy and enjoyable way to hear some great music and also support the youth. The performance will include Broadway selections, Rogers and Hammerstein, Carole King, Billy Joel, and more! (and the ensemble includes singers from our own church.) A free-will offering will be taken. After the concert, the youth share a slide show in Cook Hall of last summer's mission trip (produced by Seth Reinhardt), and will be available to answer questions about their experience.
Please join us Sunday at 4 and please invite a friend!

THIS SUNDAY
This Sunday you'll find an extra offering envelope in your program.
Why? Because it's a way to extend our reach.
The Neighbors in Need offering is one of four special offerings during the year. This one supports the our denomination's justice ministries throughout the US. One-third of the funds support the Council for American Indian Ministry. Two-thirds is given away for a variety of justice initiatives, advocacy efforts, and direct service projects through grants.
