Sacred Journey to South Korea
Devin, Nate, Kelly and 13 other CT youth with 2 chaperones are in South Korea visiting our South Korean partner churches. Please keep these youth and adults in your thoughts.
Invitation to RING or SING! Calling all musicians! Anyone interested in being part of a pick-up choir (Chimes on August 10 or Chancel Choir on August 17, please contact Jerron Jorgensen (phone 605-691-4770) or just show up that morning at 8:45 am. If you've been curious to see what it's like to be a member of one of these ensembles, this is the perfect chance to come check us out and see what we're all about! 
Coffee Hour Hosts Needed! With our summer worship theme of "hospitality," it would seem appropriate to offer hospitality each Sunday...and yet no one has signed up. Volunteers are needed to come at 9 am to set up the tent and a round table outdoors and to provide simple snacks to go along with lemonade (make it on Thursday and keep it in the church refrigerator). Sign up outside the church office or let Sue know  Monday Night at the Movies

SAVE the Date for the Third AppleFest! September 20th is the big day and we'll have vendors, craf ters, a tag sale, cheese bread, soups, and music. Our bake sale will focus on apple goodies so start looking for your favorite recipes. Set aside items appropriate for the tag sale - a list will be published soon of items wanted. Be involved: Set up, run the grill, price items, help with crafters, bake bread in our updated kitchen, be a greeter to the community, work the tag sale, sell baked items and soup, and more! Sign-up volunteer sheets will be on the Connections Committee bulletin board outside of the kitchen next week.
LOCAL FAMILY IN NEED We sadly announce that Rick Abalan of Hartland recently lost his battle to cancer. If you would like to make a donation in remembrance of Rick, please write a check to First Congregational Church with "Abalan Family" in the memo line and place it in the offering plate on Sunday OR you may send a check directly to: First Church in Hartland, PO Box 155, East Hartland, CT 06027.
