WALTON FOUNDATION FOR INDEPENDENCE
We're Off To A Great Start!
Thank You!

At the Walton Foundation for Independence, we are welcoming 2014 in a big way! This is going to be a great year and it's all because of YOU!

Your support during 2013 inspired independence for people living with disabilities like never before! We are so grateful to you for supporting our programs, like Wheelchair Tennis and Adaptive Golf, attending our Undercover Artists Show (this year's date has been set for May 1, 2014!), and sponsoring our Annual Golf Tournaments.

When we said we were welcoming 2014 in a big way, we meant it! We would like to announce that our brand new website has officially launched! The new design will make it possible for us to reach and serve more people living with disabilities in this region. Please feel free to share the website with everyone you know. The more people we reach, the more people we can help! We all play a part in the success of the Walton Foundation for Independence!

"Why I Volunteer": Naomi Monge, Walton Foundation Advocate

We hope you have had the opportunity to see Mrs. Naomi Monge, Walton Foundation's biggest cheerleader and advocate, in her starring role in our Walton Foundation ad on television. In March 2006, Mrs. Monge donated the funds for the Bill Monge Horticultural Center and Greenhouse (located at the Walton West facility, now NeuroRestorative) in memory of her husband, a longtime Foundation board member and supporter. The greenhouse serves as a garden therapy program for persons with traumatic brain injury in our community. This gift from the Monge family reinforces a powerful message: that Augusta is an inclusive community where persons with disabilities can live in accessible housing, work using their abilities in jobs they love, and play at leisure time activities that are designed with them in mind.

Our donors and volunteers are the heart of our organization. With YOU, our mission is possible!
Golf or Tennis Anyone?

Our Adaptive Golf Clinics are starting to heat back up and we will be kicking off the season on Tuesday, March 11th at The First Tee Augusta on Damascus Road. If you have an interest in helping and teaching golf and are available from 10:00 am to noon, give us a call at 706-826-5809.

Wheelchair Tennis Lessons take place every Monday at Rae's Creek Racquet Club at 4:00 pm (6:00 pm during Daylight Savings Time).

We know you are busy, we understand! You have jobs, families, extracurricular activities, vacations...you name it. But the one thing we all have in common is our dedication to improving the quality of life for those living with disabilities. And the more volunteers we have, the bigger impact we can all make. Together.

Call Alice Salley at 706-826-5809 or e-mail alices@waltonfoundation.net to get involved or sponsor an event. You will be making a HUGE impact and having fun while doing it!
