Elmwood Park Improvements Taking Shape

 

Have you driven by Elmwood Park lately? If so, you've noticed a lot of construction work going on. It's part of the city's Elmwood Park Improvement Project, which focuses on changes that will be the most impactful to the park, over $6 million of improvements supported by city investment. City, Neighborhoods Support Clean Valley Day

 

Spring Cleaning is just around the corner. This year, instead of just making plans to "deep clean" your house or yard, think big. Volunteer to help pick up trash in your community on Clean Valley Day-Saturday, April 13. The City of Roanoke supports this event each year by working with the Clean Valley Council to pick up the debris collected. Find out more.

 
 
Making Roanoke 'Lead Safe'

 

What makes a community safe? Neighborhood watch groups, home security systems, deadbolt locks on doors--these images come to mind. But one important precaution that doesn't get a lot of attention is the elimination of lead paint in houses. The dust from the lead-based paint on walls, doors, windows, and sills may be poisonous to children. Roanoke is doing something to address this danger. Learn more.
