City Targets Historic West End for Improvements
Roanoke's Historic West End is front and center for some much needed changes. That's because in September 2011, Roanoke identified this area as the next target for the use of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) funds received by the city. Funds are used mainly for housing, economic development projects, and infrastructure such as storm drains, curb, gutter, and sidewalk. More information here.

Roanoke Parks and Recreation recently launched a new website: www.PLAYRoanoke.com. The new site makes it easy to browse and register for programs, find a park with the interactive park map, reserve a facility, view an online calendar, and much more. Spring registration is now open. |
Leadership College Offers Community Engagement
Have you ever thought about being a leader in your community? You'd like to get involved and learn about the services and resources available to your neighborhood, but you're not sure where to begin? One way to start is to register for the city's Leadership College. Classes meet each Wednesday evening from 6 to 9 p.m. in the Municipal Building for nine weeks. There is no cost to attend.
