Please join us in welcoming Dr. David Yee, Psy.D., to our staff!


Dr. Yee comes to Doorways with extensive clinical and practical experience working with young people. He earned his doctorate degree in clinical psychology from Argosy University and has worked in a variety of clinical settings with adolescents and young adults.  He also served as a youth pastor for ten years.

 

Dr. Yee uses a combination of cognitive behavioral (CBT) and family systems therapies to assist teens and their families through the healing process. In addition to psychotherapy services, Dr. Yee offers a wide range of psychological testing evaluations for ADHD, academic achievement, personality assessment, cognitive ability, and more.

NEW PARENTING GROUPS

DBT Group for Parents

 

Attention all parents! You won't want to miss out on this opportunity. Sam Lample, LPC is leading a special one-time group for parents and we would love to have you join us. 

 

Who: All parents of teens and young adults

  

What: Come and learn what we teach in DBT group and how DBT applies to parenting.

 

When: Monday, April 14, 2014 from 6:30 p.m. - 8:30 p.m.

Teen Parenting Group


Attention all parents of teenagers! Janet Ander, LPC, is hosting a Parenting Group for anyone parenting a teen. This group will cover a wide range of topics about raising a teenager in this crazy world!


Who:   All parents of teens

 

What:  Topics to be discussed will be communication and boundaries, adolescent development, parenting skills and discipline, parent self-care and support, trauma, etc.

 

When6 week series, Thursday, April 24 - May 29, 2014, from 6:30 p.m. - 7:45 p.m. The series is open enrollment and people may join at any time.

Cost:  Each group is $45 per individual or $75 per couple. Six week prepaid is $250 per individual, $400 per couple.

Today's teens are being bullied in very different ways than the kind of bullying we may've experienced.  When parents don't recognize warning signs, their teens are at risk. This risk only increases when you consider the fact that research shows that when the bullying is happening online, only 5% of teens will tell an adult.  The best way to protect your child is to know how to recognize the signs that your child is being bullied online.
