Aloha ,
As mentioned in our last newsletter, the city's Ko'olau Loa Sustainable Communities Plan (KSCP) amendment is moving forward! The city Planning Commission will hold a hearing on the proposed plan amendment:
- Wednesday, March 6th, 1:30-6:30 p.m.
- Windward Community College in Kaneohe
We encourage you to attend and wear your blue Envision Laie t-shirt to show your support!
A number of Envision Laie proposals are included in the KSCP draft released by the city Department of Planning & Permitting (DPP), such as additional housing in Malaekahana, growth for BYU-Hawaii and the Polynesian Cultural Center, and an alternate access road. (For more info, go to the newsletter archive at www.envisionlaie.com. The entire KSCP draft is available for viewing on the City's DPP website.)
Make Your Voice Heard - Send A Written Comment
Residents and stakeholders have another opportunity to make their views known. It's important that city planners know what we think; we hope you will participate in the input process.
Comments need not be lengthy to be effective - a simple statement regarding your support for the plan and why you want to see it implemented is fine. Include your name and an address. Encourage your household members, family and friends to send in their comments too - every opinion matters and every voice counts.
Written comments to the city Planning Commission can be faxed to 768-6743, preferably before Wednesday, March 6th.
We hope you'll join us on Wednesday at the hearing! Mahalo,
The Envision Lā'ie Team |
