I am sitting here writing this morning, taking advantage of the fact that two strong aftershocks, only one hour apart have kept me from sleeping.  You may wonder why we would leave the comfort of the U.S. to live in a foreign land and risk things like earthquakes.  Well each time the ground shakes I am reminded more why I am here.  The time is short.  We do not know how much longer each of us have, so it is imperative that we do the work of the gospel, that we share the good news of Christ's resurrection and redemption and that we train and equip others to do the same as eternity is closer than we realize.

Ministry with Friends

Pastors Paul & Nancy Glass were with us in June from Georgia.  While they were here we visited with several of the churches we work alongside.     We packed a lot into their short time here. During their time here we were ministering in ladies retreats, pastors meetings, church services, visiting with the kids at CANICA and had some one-on-one time with several of the pastors. It was a great time of encouragement for the congregations and leaders, and an amazing time of fellowship and ministry.
Putting Feet on the Vision

We are very encouraged to see our vision starting to take shape.  We recently met with several of the mission pastors to start planning training seminars for their leaders.  As you know our heart's cry is to equip the Guatemalan leaders to fulfill the work of the ministry.
When we started the guest house project it was always with the thought of it serving a dual purpose.  One, it was to be a safe, comfortable place to house teams and visitors from the US who were here to join us for short term ministry.  Two, it was to be a place to take first steps towards our ministry training center.
We are in plans and preparations with the pastors to host several intensive training weekends with their leaders to help them equip their leaders and future church planters.  We are excited about this opportunity.  Please pray with us as this expansion not only requires more from us in time, but also, in finances.  Our goal is to keep this accessible for these leaders, some of which will be coming in from other cities.  So we will house and feed them over the weekend and they will have to provide their transportation.

THANK YOU!
We want to thank each of you for your continued financial and prayer support for our work here in Guatemala.  I know we say this each newsletter but we really could not do this without your help.  Your financial help has made it possible for us to continue our ministry here.  Just over the last few months we have been able to help host leaders meetings, mentor pastors, provide living necessities for local pastors, provide social help for several families in need, as well as our living and other ministry expenses.  All of this is thanks to your generosity.  We remember you daily in our prayers.  May God bless you abundantly.

Sincerely,
