Galatians 6 verse 9

We are always excited to be able to communicate with you and share some of what has been going on here in Guatemala.  We are so thankful for your love, prayers and support for us and our ministry.  You are what makes the difference!

Making the most of each opportunity.

We love ministering with our pastors and friends here in Guatemala.  Sometimes this means we are in a pulpit, sometimes it means we are packing boxes, praying in hospitals or just being there for them.  We have learned over the years that every moment is a learning moment as well as every moment is a teaching moment.  It requires discernment each day to know what God is doing and how He wants to complete His work.  After several recent services, we had pastors come forward to share testimonies of what God is doing and how our ministry and our encouragement has made the difference in their lives.  We are so touched and encouraged by their words and yet we well aware that we are just the instruments that God has chosen to use in these last days.  We may not be able to change the entire world, but we certainly have the power to change our world with the hope that is in Jesus Christ!

Enjoying the fruits of our labor.

Recently, John was invited to be a part of a training that the volunteer firefighters were hosting.  This training came as a direct result of some of the donations that we were able to bring in earlier in the year.  It was so amazing to see the impact of that work as 30 firefighters gathered together from all around the highlands of Guatemala to learn how to properly use this new equipment for saving lives.  Sometimes, when we are dealing with all the paperwork and all the details that go along with bringing in these donations, it can be frustrating and causes us to doubt why we are doing this, but when we see the results, we realize it is well worth the sacrifice.  Our goal is not to do things for people, but rather to place resources in their hands so that they can do these things for themselves and for others.  That is exactly what this donation accomplished.  The donation came in, and then the firefighters banded together to train other cities so they could all benefit.  What a blessing!  We have many great friends in the volunteer firefighters throughout the highlands region of Guatemala and we hope that this will be not just one but the first of many opportunities to bless those who are first responders.

November is going to be a full month.  We have several major ministry activities planned and are also looking forward to a a few days off to enjoy Thanksgiving here with some other missionary friends, even if it is just one day.  As you are preparing for your holidays, would you consider sending in a special holiday offering?  You can donate online at www.worldoutreach.org/donations or you can mail your donation to World Outreach Ministries, PO BOX B, Marietta, GA 30061.  Please indicate that your donation is for John & Tracy Batchelor, fund code #28.  As independent missionaries, we are responsible for raising 100% of our ministry funding, which enables us to continue the work of ministry here in Guatemala.  We depend entirely on friends and partners like you to join with us in our vision. We are extremely thankful for each of you and your faithfulness.

first finished bed
You can help:

We are so excited as we see the mission house starting to come together.  There is still much to do, but we are well on our way.  So far, we are half-way to our goal to be able to finish all 8 bunk-beds but this is just our first step.  After the beds, we will still need to stock the kitchen and the group areas.  Our deadline to have everything done is March 2014, when our first large group will arrive. Please consider a special offering to help with this project.
