The terrain is  a mix of hills and flatland with paved and dirt roads.  Want to ride a short section? ...that works! If you want to ride the entire route it's 37 miles with nurturing food all along the way.

18 participating farms host awesome food including grilled chicken, Caesar salad, sausage, cheese, apples, grass-fed, beef chili, pesto, goat stew, sweet corn and watermelon, maple syrup delights and artisanal ice cream. Harvest of the Month:
Addison County Apples
Schools, farmers, retailers, chefs and YOU as consumer: Check out Harvest of the Month's wonderful recipes and ideas to promote fresh produce at your schools, farm stands, markets, in your CSA shares or at your stores. There are great marketing and classroom materials to help you promote healthy eating. It is SO Apple season!

If you are looking to learn more about the abundant apple varieties look to Vermont author Rowan Jacobsen and his wonderful book
Apples of Uncommon Character, available at the Vermont Book Shop. This is truly a special book for its rich content, gorgeous pictures and wit.
Pick for Your Neighbor
During apple harvest season, individuals, civic groups and companies are encouraged to visit a participating orchard to pick and purchase extra apples for donation to the Vermont Foodbank.

Pick for your Neighbor benefits the Vermont Foodbank by increasing the amount of fresh, healthy produce available for distribution to our network partner food shelves and meal sites throughout Vermont while also helping increase business for local orchards. Addison County orchards work the logistics to make sure the apples are delivered to the Foodbank in a timely manner.  Thanks to Addison County's Woodchuck Cider for underwriting this annual appeal.

Consider spending a day at one of Vermont's orchards this coming season and Pick for Your Neighbor!
Schools Enjoy the Harvest
