MT Abe Will Have Compost!
A huge thank you goes out to all the good folks who helped raise money for the Mt Abe Compost Project. We are proud of our student leaders! It really does take a village to raise awareness. ACORN celebrates that YOU took part in the online campaign through our social media. The student initiative raised well above their goal of $8000 for a grand total exceeding 12,000! THANK you for supporting our emerging leaders and fostering the proliferation of microbes!

We are a volunteer board with a hired communications director working on specific projects to broaden Addison County's impact in the arena of food, agriculture, capitalization of small businesses and renewable energy resources. The links are meant to show the array of Vermont-based resources. Kindly share ideas that can support our effort. Thank you for supporting our work.

Bee's Wrap is Just the Ticket for Picnics and Food Storage
A unique product made in Addison County will help you extend the life of your foods. Bee's Wrap is made with organic cotton muslin, beeswax, jojoba oil, and tree resin. The antibacterial properties of the beeswax and jojoba oil help to keep food fresh and allow you to use the Bee's Wrap again and again. Just wash your Bee's Wrap in COOL water with a mild dish soap, air dry, fold, and store in a drawer or in a basket on the counter.

This and their other products can be found online or at area stores.

Shackbury Cider: Taps Are Running in Boston & Burlington
It was at Toro in Boston over two years ago that the owners tasted Basque cider for the first time. Realizing cider didn't have to be sweet and bubbly, that it could be complex and inspiring, helped shape a view of a business that would become Shacksbury Cider.Fast forward to now, after a year of development, they are thrilled to announce that they've come full circle. Toro is running a draft of their Basque cider. As a tapas-style restaurant whose chef won the James Beard Award for Best Chef in the Northeast 2014, it couldn't be a better place. We congratulate David and Colin on their first year and the excitement of reaching their target markets. Find it on tap at the Farm House in Burlington. Keep up with their growth on facebook.
