Greetings Fellow Young Republicans!

Monthly YR General Meeting

This month's speaker will be Mark A. Harder. Mr. Harder was just elected to the Saint Louis County Council from District 7 in West County.

The Monthly General meeting will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 at 7:15 PM at the Saint Louis County Library's Mid-County Branch in Downtown Clayton (7821 Maryland Avenue; Saint Louis, Missouri 63105-3875). The meeting will be held in the Large Auditorium. The business meeting will start at 7:15 PM followed by the speaker at 7:30 PM.

Parking Information: FREE parking after 5:00 PM in City of Clayton surface lots and meters near the Library.

For those wishing to do so, we will be going to socialize at a nearby establishment after the meeting.

Annual YR Christmas Party 2014

Our Annual YR Christmas Party will be held on Friday, December 12, 2014 at the home of YR Jeffrey and Danielle Evitts. The address is 9902 Hilltop Drive, Saint Louis, Missouri 63128. The party starts at 7:00 PM. If you need assistance locating the house, please call (314) 849-2633.

We will provide food, beer, and soda, but please feel free to bring anything else you may want. We ask that everyone please bring a side dish or dessert to share.

We will be collecting toys for Toys for Tots. Please feel free to bring a new and unwrapped gift to add to our collection so we can help brighten the holidays for some special children.

Family, friends, and guests welcome.

2015 YR Officer Elections

The 2015 YR Officer Elections will be held on Thursday, January 08, 2015. Nominations for 2015 officers will be held on Thursday, November 13, 2014 and Thursday, December 11, 2014.

The officers of this organization in order of rank shall be:

President
Executive Vice President
Vice President of Membership
Vice President of Education
Vice President of Information and Finance
Six (6) Directors of the Executive Board, elected at large.
            Director 1 (Director of Social Events)
            Director 2 (Director of Campaign Activities/Volunteering)
            Director 3 (Director of Technology/Webmaster)
            Director 4 (Director of Fundraising)
            Director 5 (Director of Philanthropy)
            Director 6 (Director of Outreach)
Sergeant-at-Arms

Nominations for officers may be made at the November meeting of each year and may also be made at the December meeting of said year until nominations are closed for the office for which the nomination is presented (Bylaws, Article V, Section 1).

No one shall be eligible to vote in the annual election of officers who is not a member in good standing at the time of the election, and who has also not been a member in good standing for at least sixty (60) days preceding the election (Bylaws, Article V, Section 2).

Only persons who have been members in good standing of this organization for at least six (6) consecutive months immediately preceding the election and who are members in good standing at the time of the election shall be eligible to be elected officers. Those members, who are officeholders when their fortieth birthday occurs, may complete their term in office. (Bylaws, Article V, Section 3).

Only Active Members in good standing shall be eligible to vote and hold offices as herein prescribed. No members shall be considered in good standing unless and until he has paid his annual dues for the current calendar year. Annual dues shall become due on the second Thursday of February of each year, and a member shall cease to be in good standing for failure to pay their annual dues by the opening of the March meeting (Bylaws, Article III, Section 7).

The officers of this organization in order of rank shall be: President, Executive Vice President, Vice President of Membership, Vice President of Education, Vice President of Information and Finance, Sergeant-at-Arms, and six (6) members at large of the Executive Board. The officers shall assume administrative and supervisory duties as designated by the President (Bylaws, Article IV, Section 1).

Monthly Meetings and Happy Hours

Saint Louis Young Republican General Member Meetings are held the second Thursday of each month and Monthly Happy Hours are held the fourth Friday of each month.

State Auditor Tom Schweich at UM-Saint Louis

State Auditor Tom Schweich will be speaking at the UM-Saint Louis Breakfast & Business event on November 20, 2014 from 7:30 AM until 9:00 AM in the SGA Chambers of UM-Saint Louis' Millennium Student Center. Annual membership dues are only $25.00 per regular or associate member, or $40.00 per married couple, or $50.00 per sustaining member, $100.00+ for advisory board member, or $300+ for President's circle per calendar year.
