Monthly YR General Meeting | |
Our guest speakers this month will be Dan Amsden and Jason Rosenbaum. Mr. Amsden recently formed a group called the Spending Oversight Council and Mr. Rosenbaum is a reporter with the Saint Louis Beacon.
The Monthly General meeting will be held on Thursday, December 13, 2012 at 7:30 PM at Mike Duffy's Pub & Grill in Kirkwood, which is located at 124 West Jefferson Avenue, 63122. The meetings are held in the private room located in the back left corner of the dining room just past the bar.

2013 YR Officer Elections | | Nominations are now open for the 2013 YR Officer Elections to be held on Thursday, January 10, 2013. We will continue to take nominations at our December 13, 2012 meeting. All candidates must be members in good standing, having paid their 2012 dues.
The officers of this organization in order of rank shall be:
President Executive Vice President Vice President of Membership Vice President of Education Vice President of Information and Finance Six (6) Directors of the Executive Board, elected at large. Director 1 (Director of Social Events) Director 2 (Director of Campaign Activities/Volunteering) Director 3 (Director of Technology/Webmaster) Director 4 (Director of Fundraising) Director 5 (Director of Philanthropy) Director 6 (Director of Outreach) Sergeant-at-Arms
Nominations for officers may be made at the November meeting of each year and may also be made at the December meeting of said year and until nominations are closed for the office for which the nomination is presented (Bylaws, Article V, Section 1).
No one shall be eligible to vote in the annual election of officers who is not a member in good standing at the time of the election, and who has also not been a member in good standing for at least sixty (60) days preceding the election (Bylaws, Article V, Section 2).
Only persons who have been members of this organization for at least six (6) consecutive months immediately preceding the election and who are members in good standing at the time of the election shall be eligible to be elected officers. Those members, who are officeholders when their fortieth birthday occurs, may complete their term in office. (Bylaws, Article V, Section 3).
Only Active Members in good standing shall be eligible to vote and hold offices as herein prescribed. No members shall be considered in good standing unless and until he has paid his annual dues for the current calendar year. Annual dues shall become due on the second Thursday of February of each year, and a member shall cease to be in good standing for failure to pay their annual dues by the opening of the March meeting (Bylaws, Article III, Section 7).

| We will be collecting toys at our December meeting, and Christmas Party for Toys for Tots. Please bring a new and unwrapped gift to add to our collection so we can help brighten the holidays for some special children.

Dan Amsden's Bio | |
Dan Amsden is President of Automation Alliance Group (AAG), and has 40 years of experience with engineering and construction of capital programs for numerous manufacturing industries and commercial ventures. Prior to joining Automation Alliance Group, he served in senior executive positions for major US engineering and construction companies, with responsibilities for both domestic and international programs, including responsibilities for operations in Asia, Europe, Mexico and other Latin American countries.
Automation Alliance Group provides services and systems for process control, operation management, data management and information systems for manufacturing industries. Dan's responsibilities include developing business strategies and plans and managing the AAG's overall activities. He also serves in a consulting capacity to AAG's customers, with a particular focus on examining production activities and plans, and developing concepts and methodologies to maximize financial returns of production lines.
Dan graduated from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1970 with a B.S. in Electrical Engineering, and from the Missouri University of Science and Technology in 1975 with a M.S. in Engineering Management, where he is a member and past president of the Academy of Engineering Management and does periodic guest lectures. |

Jason Rosenbaum's Bio | |
Jason Rosenbaum writes about politics, policy and everything in between for the Beacon. A native of suburban Chicago, Jason graduated from the University of Missouri School of Journalism in 2006. His work has appeared in publications such as the Columbia Daily Tribune, Missouri Lawyers Media, the Columbia Business Times and the St. Louis Business Journal. He also has written about music for the Riverfront Times.
During his time as a state government reporter for the Columbia Daily Tribune, Jason reported on the Missouri General Assembly. He also covered local and national elections, including the presidential contest in 2008. In Columbia, he recorded a weekly radio analysis for NPR affiliate KBIA and served as an adjunct instructor for Mizzou's J-School for a semester in 2009. |

Annual membership dues are only $25.00 per regular or associate member, or $40.00 per married couple, or $50.00 per sustaining member, $100.00+ for advisory board member, or $300+ for President's circle per calendar year.
