A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

This weekend, 9th grader Nora Gallagher will be representing the IEA (Interscholastic Equestrian Association) Team of Andrews Osborne Academy at the national finals being held in Syracuse. All of us at AOA wish Nora the best of luck.

This morning, during the Middle and Upper School Assembly, new Student Council members for the 2013-2014 school year were introduced. They will take over their new positions beginning next week. Traditionally, the Student Council has recognized an outstanding student and an outstanding faculty/staff member at their last meeting. Congratulations to Allee Vito for being recognized as the outstanding student and to Mrs. Laura Walsh for being recognized as the outstanding faculty/staff member for the year. I would like to thank Jordan Jones, president of this year's Student Council, for her leadership this past year. I look forward to working with the new Student Council.

International Day is next Friday. All parents, grandparents, and friends of AOA are welcome to attend the Performance Showcase which will begin at 1:15 and conclude at 3:00 p.m. This traditional event features our students and their international heritage.

Enrollment contracts were mailed in early February. As of today, we are equal to the same number of contracts returned at this time last year. Please remember that our enrollment has increased each year for the past five years. Our Lower School enrollment has increased to a point where we now have two classes at each grade level. At Pre-K there are two full classes for next year as well as a waiting list. If you have not returned your contract, especially at the Lower School level for next year, I recommend that you do this as soon as possible as the classes are getting close to capacity. We are currently at 384 students and we project that we will have 400 students.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

Chuck Roman

International Day

Andrews Osborne Academy will host its Annual International Day on Friday, April 26th. Parents are welcome to join us from 1:15 to 3:00 p.m. for our Annual International Performance Showcase that will present many of the traditions, sights, and sounds of our diverse student body and highlights from our global studies and foreign language programs.

This year's theme is ART IS UNIVERSAL, and the theme truly embraces the goal of International Day - to share cultures and experiences, to demonstrate how art and music can connect us all, and to define how our community lives each day.  We hope you can join us.
