A Message From Our Head of School

   

Dear Parents,

 

There's no place like home! Last night I returned from China. I wasn't sure if I would make it in today due to the 12 hour time difference. As I drove onto the campus this morning, I realized what a wonderful place we have and how much I missed seeing all of the students.

 

The trip involved meeting with many of our current parents from China. On the flight home, I had plenty of time to think about the trip and realized that I should be meeting with families locally like I do in China. I take for granted that parents of day students know the school and don't need a visit from me to share school information and future plans with them. All families that send their children to AOA are important and are just as interested in their children's education. With all of this being said, I hope that I can find a way to personally meet with you. Only 20% of our families responded to the Capital Campaign Feasibility Study. This tells me that I (we) need to find a better way for you to assist us in current and future planning as well as improve our communication with you.

Congratulations to our fourth grade students on their Shakespeare production today.  I'm glad I made it back in time from China to see their performance, which was outstanding.

 

Next Friday, March 22nd, is the last day before break and students return to classes on Monday, April 8th. I'm hoping for warmer weather.

Middle School Musical

Please join us for the Middle School performance of "Once Upon A Mattress" on Thursday, March 21st at 7:00 p.m.  Tickets are $3.00 and may be purchased at the door.  A day performance for students is at 9:45 a.m.

This one hour musical is a witty version of the classic fairy tale, "The Princess and the Pea."
