A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

Our boys and girls basketball teams at all levels are doing great, especially the boy's varsity team. Their record is 11-1, and they play in a tournament at Wellington School in Columbus this weekend. All of our families are again invited to cheer the boys and girls varsity teams to victory at our annual "Pack the House" event on Tuesday, January 29th, beginning with the girl's game at 5:00 p.m., followed by the boy's game at 6:30 p.m. We will be playing one of the best teams in our league (St. Martin De Porres from Cleveland) and it should be an exciting evening. Fun activities are also planned.

It's official; the first day of school for the 2013-2014 school year is Thursday, September 5th. The last day of school for students in grades PK-11 is Friday, June 13th. Commencement is Saturday, May 31st. Next year's calendar is similar to this year's except that Thanksgiving is a week later and the first day back for students following Winter Break is a Tuesday. The Monday following Winter Break will be a professional development day for faculty and staff. A copy of the 2013-2014 calendar can be found by clicking here. This calendar, plus the 2012-2013 version, can also be found on the AOA website under "Calendar" in the top bar or under "Resources/Forms". A 2013-2014 monthly version will be created in the coming months.

As you are aware, a feasibility study is being conducted this month to determine whether or not Andrews Osborne Academy will move forward with a Capital Campaign. Consultants were on campus yesterday and today and will return next week to conduct approximately 40 personal interviews. All of our families were mailed a questionnaire to respond to 50 questions. I am asking that you please take a few minutes to read over and complete the survey and return to Ford and Associates by January 31st. It is important that we receive your feedback on this important journey. Andrews Osborne Academy has come a long way in its short history, but needs your continued support to keep the school moving forward in a positive direction.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

Chuck Roman
