A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

Andrews Osborne Academy students support many charitable organizations throughout the year and recently raised over $500.00 for Forbes House, a battered women's shelter.

Next Friday, December 7th, our Varsity Club is sponsoring Buckets for Breast Cancer. The event will highlight our Girl's Varsity and Boy's JV and Varsity basketball teams in games against Horizon Academy. Games begin at 5:30 p.m. with the boy's varsity game beginning at 8:30 p.m. All proceeds from concessions and admission will be donated to the Lake Health Breast Cancer Foundation. There will be t-shirts for sale, a 50-50 raffle, food, and more. We hope that you will attend and support our Varsity Club, the basketball teams, and more importantly, the fight against breast cancer. Admission for students is $4.00 and adults $6.00.

Our Middle School Student Council is sponsoring a Parent's Night Out. No, it's not to entertain parents. The evening is being held to give parents a night out to do some last minute shopping for Christmas or just to have an evening out. Parent's Night Out will be held on Saturday, December 15th, from 5:00-9:00 p.m. Cost per child is $15.00. While you're out enjoying your evening, your children will have fun watching movies, playing games, and eating pizza. Middle School students with adult supervision will watch over your children. Children from EC-Grade 5 are welcome to attend. The event will take place in the Community Room. If you would like to take advantage of this, please contact Kathy Marvar at 440- 942-3600, ext. 110 or email Kathy at kmarvar@andrewsosborne.org.

Congratulations to 8th grade student Angel Tyler and senior Lizzy Poropat. As a member of Cleveland's Singing Angels, Angel has been invited to sing at the White House in Washington, D.C. this weekend. Lizzy was recently selected to the News-Herald Volleyball All-Star Team. Way to go Angel and Lizzy!

The AOA members of the Cleveland Orchestra Youth Chorus (Hardy Yang, Oliver Jin, Amy Shen, Macie Poskarbiewicz and Suzy Lefelhocz) are performing this Sunday at the University Circle Holiday Circle Fest.  For more information, go to www.universitycircle.org.

Good luck to our Winter Sports teams as they begin their season this weekend.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

Chuck Roman
