A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

Beginning this evening at 7:30 p.m. and for the next three days, AOA students will present "Damn Yankees". This classic musical is the story about a diehard Washington Senator's fan Joe Boyd, portrayed by Senior Xavier Martinez. His obsession with baseball is driving a wedge between him and wife Meg. After seeing his team lose yet again, Joe rashly declares that he would sell his soul to the devil to see his team beat the Yankees. No sooner has he spoken than the devil appears before him in the guise of a suave conman, Mr. Applegate, portrayed by Junior Aaron Cross.

Supported by a cast and crew of over fifty Middle and Upper School students, this team will surely impress theatre and baseball fans. We hope that our families will come out and support this team and enjoy the musical. The November 17th performance also begins at 7:30 p.m. A matinee performance will take place on Sunday, November 18th, beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tickets can be purchased at the door: $3.00 for students and seniors, $5.00 for adults.

As you may be aware, next week is a short week with school in session on Monday and Tuesday. Thanksgiving Break begins on Wednesday with students returning to school on Monday, November 26th. Thank you to all of our parents who will be hosting boarding students. We wish all of our families a safe and thankful Thanksgiving Day.

Have a great weekend and week ahead. Happy Thanksgiving!

Chuck Roman
