A Message From Our Head of School

Dear Parents,

You're invited to a special assembly on Thursday October 25th. Students in the Upper, Middle, and some in Lower School will have the opportunity see a performance by the Spizzwinks, a male a cappella group from Yale University.

Founded in late 1913, the Spizzwinks are the oldest underclassman a cappella group in the United States, dating back to a first performance in early 1914. They perform across the United States and around the world. They will be performing in the Cleveland area on October 26th, and thanks to the efforts of Karen Clark, music director for the Middle and Upper School, arrangements have been made for the group to visit and perform here at Andrews Osborne Academy. The performance will begin promptly at 2:15 p.m. in the auditorium. There will be plenty of room in the auditorium, so there is no need to call in advance if you would like to attend.  We are looking forward to having this group perform for us.

Congratulations to our girls and boys cross country teams. They held their conference meet last Saturday and both teams finished in first place. Our varsity girl's tennis team finished their season with a 5-4 record. Our Middle School soccer and volleyball teams had a terrific season, with the soccer team losing only two games and the volleyball team losing only one.  The Middle School soccer team will play in an independent school tournament at Andrews Osborne Academy on Wednesday, October 24th. Come out and support the team and enjoy watching our young talent.

Next Friday, October 26th, the Middle School students will host the annual Fall Festival in the small gym from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The annual event for mainly Lower School students is a lot of fun and also a great time for parents.

Have a great weekend and week ahead.

Chuck Roman

Host Families

At AOA we are fortunate to have a large and diverse international student population. As many of you are aware, our dormitories close during scheduled school breaks (Thanksgiving, Winter, and Spring) and several of our international students look forward to the opportunity of staying with a local family during these times. We hope you will consider participating in our AOA Host Family program.

You may choose one, two or all three breaks. Stipends are included.
