The month we have all been waiting for...September CMT Awareness Month!!!

With the help of our Amazing Trustees and aided and abetted by Paula Hunter, a PR consultant, we're ready for AWARENESS MONTH.

The fun kicks off tomorrow with some of our members broadcasting live from their home in Peterborough via Ustream for 72 HOURS!  They're raising funds and awareness for us, so go to www.claudemactrevor.co.uk/
to join in!

Don't forget to visit our Forum and Facebook page to share your stories, and keep facebooking/tweeting to all your friends and relatives.

For all our international members, we are celebrating Global Awareness Day on Friday, September 28.  We're hoping that we may be able to broadcast on Ustream LIVE from the office during the morning - I need to do some tweaking of the equipment to make sure it works, and if we can do this, I'll send another email beforehand to give you the details.

Our instant chatroom, hosted by Chatzy, will also be open all day too - you can log into www.chatzy.com/cmtuk - password is charcot1 - and chat to whoever is online.  This chatroom will ONLY be moderated and supervised by Trustees on Global Awareness Day.

Awareness logo 2012 From 1st September through to 30th September, you are encouraged to change your avatar on Facebook and other social media outlets to our Awareness Month logo. For Facebook, we've also created a cover image you can add to your timeline. It's easy to do and makes a strong impression on the world at large. Ask all your friends and family to do the same. Each time the avatar and cover images are used, you are helping to spread awareness.  Visit our Facebook page to download the Cover Page.

We would also like you all to spread the message outside of the internet as far and as wide as possible.  You can download posters and flyers from www.cmt.org.uk/get-involved.php or ask me to send you a supply.  You can ask your doctor's surgery to display them, or library, or office or....  anywhere you can think of!

Be sure to visit the CMT UK webshop at www.cmt.org.uk/shop.php, where you will find  all sorts of items to help spread awareness.  There are also t-shirts, key chains, mugs...just about anything you can think of to help celebrate Awareness Month.  In particular, don't forget our lovely silicon bracelets, at just 1 each!

Silicon wristbands

Last, but definitely not least, Paula has been working hard to get our message out into the media at large.  Articles have already been published in the Birmingham Mail (resulting in an interview on BBC Radio WM, and maybe an interview on telly next week - Lisa Welsh, not me!), and in the Norwich Evening News.  Lots more members have volunteered and there are a whole host of newspapers and BBC radio stations who are going to be sharing our stories - if you keep your fingers and toes crossed (!) there may even be the odd national newspaper taking up the story.  I'll try to post links to as many as I hear about on the website and the Facebook page - but if you see anything in the press that we don't mention, PLEASE send a clipping and/or link to me for our scrapbook!

You can find links on www.cmt.org.uk/news.php
