Greetings!

The 5th Annual Green Difference Awards took place on April 24th at The MA State House in The Gardner Auditorium.

The Green Difference Awards honor and empower Environmental Excellence and Stewardship led in our Schools & Communities.

Student Ambassadors/Interns who have committed more than 20 hours of Environmental Service during the academic year were recognized by The Green Schools Organization.

Finally, 20 Students were recognized with PEYA Certificates.

The PEYA program promotes awareness of our nation's natural resources and encourages positive community involvement. Since 1971, the President of the United States has joined with EPA to recognize young people across the U.S. for protecting our nation's air, water, land, and ecology. It is one of the most important ways EPA and the Administration demonstrate commitment to environmental stewardship efforts created and conducted by our nation's young people.

The Green Schools Alliance 2013 Student Climate & Conservation Congress

2013 Student Climate & Conservation Congress (Sc3)

Sc3 is the country's leading week-long high school environmental leadership program. Students entering 9th to 12th grade (and a limited number of faculty or staff) who have shown outstanding leadership in their schools or communities, are encouraged to apply.

In cooperation with the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service's National Conservation Training Center (NCTC), this high-profile event seeks our nation's best and brightest young people to learn about issues from multiple perspectives, including science, policy and the arts. Sc3 features: world-renown speakers; small group discussions; naturalist-led, outdoor inquiries and more. Sc3 Fellows leave with a greater understanding of the interconnections between people and nature, and return home with the tools and skills needed to impact the important issues of our day.

Sc3 is hosted by NCTC, the nation's premiere, state-of-the-art conservation training facility located in Sheperdstown, WV, just outside DC on the Potomac River. The Sc3 Congress uplifts Fellows to a greater purpose, many of whom have described Sc3 as "life-changing."

Earth Economy
Nature is an economy, with material and information exchange, saving, investment, production, and consumption - all functions we associate with economic activity. Nature surrounds us with expressions of the organizing principles that make possible life's exceptional resilience, capacity for adaptation, creative innovation, and vibrant abundance. Earth's biosphere and the human body are two magnificent examples. [An economy is nothing more than a system for allocating resources to productive activity - presumably in support of life.] Read More
