On Nov 5, 1995 as God spoke to our hearts we entered a shifting season and launched our first church service. We left the security of a successful business to embrace a new adventure of full-time ministry. Many prophetic words had been spoken over our lives that God wanted to use us around the world. Words are nice and great to hear but it's another thing to be obedient and fulfill them.
We ventured out and planted Crossroads Faith Centre in Delta 18 years ago today. By Feb 1996 we met Pastor Scott Abke at Springs of Life Fellowship in San Jose, California. In July of 1996 we were contacted by Pastor Peter Youngren and Pastor Randy Nielson to help birth Open Bible Faith Fellowship. This was a network of churches across the nation of Canada where we served as Directors for 6 years. We helped plant churches and assist Pastors across the nation.
Through our great friend in ministry, Judy Gossett, we were invited to go to San Jose to experience the revival that was happening. We experienced something NEW! This was a fresh outpouring of the Holy Spirit and Fire! We were refreshed, revived and renewed! God filled us with great faith and as we returned home to the Pacific Northwest, we have never looked back! We were carriers of God's glory and brought it home to our church where we experienced 3 1/2 years of renewal meetings. Some of our guest speakers included Donnie and Reba McGuire, Elias Antonias, Scott Holtz, Georgian Banov, Scott Abke, David Herzog, Al Houghton, Sasha Alexander and many others came to keep stoking the fires of revival. Through these years we were definitely transformed, never the same! We saw God touch thousands of people over those years.
In 2001 we shifted again from a local church mentality to a world vision mentality and Kingdom Harvest Ministries International (KHMI) became a reality. We took our first trip to Guatemala in May of 2001. Our heart was to touch the new generation, and our eyes were opened as we saw the great need. We partnered with Feviva World Missions for 8 years and during that time we took many teams to Guatemala and helped them build Casa Esperanza, an orphanage now filled with children.
Our hearts have always been for children and we have held Kidz Kamp outreaches each summer since we began our church. Hundreds of children and their families have been saved and impacted by the power of God during these camps over these last 18 years.
Our passion has now taken us to Africa, Sri Lanka, all over Canada, the USA, Central America, and Mexico. Kingdom Harvest Ministries International has ordained and supported many ministries throughout these countries. We have helped plant churches, feed the poor, help the needy and do many crusades and outreaches throughout the nations.
In 2013, KHMI along with GEMS (Global Emergency Missions Society) have sent containers to El Salvador, Guatemala, and Nicaragua. This has helped thousands of people! In Mexico with the Ministry of Operation Bless the Children with Pastor Elias Rodriguez, we have helped thousands of children at Christmas time receive a shoebox full of presents. In Guatemala with the help of Cromwell Cuestas and Luis Lorenzana and through the Foundation that has been formed called Matthew 18, we have ministered and distributed food and clothing througout the nation. In El Salvador with Pastor Douglas Rivera we have reached out with the shipping of containers, crusades, medical and dental clinics and the planting of many churches.
We just want to thank all of you for your support over the years, but now is the time to keep moving forward. As we write this the great need in Haiti has come to us. We will ship a container to that country in early 2014 as God continues to expand our territory. Your faithful support and prayers have made this all possible over the years. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to move forward into all God has for us! LET THE FUTURE BEGIN!!
