MERCAZ Olami and Masorti Olami are saddened by the tragic and untimely loss of our President, Dr. Stephen Wolnek, who passed away on Tuesday, 24 Tevet, January 5, 2016.
Steve was our leader for the last 6 years and represented MERCAZ Olami on the boards of the National Zionist Institutions; the World Zionist Organization, the Jewish Agency and Keren Kayemeth LeIsrael (JNF). Steve worked day and night for the Jewish People, the Zionist Movement and the Masorti Movement in which he deeply believed.

The funeral service will take place on Wednesday, January 6, 2016, at 1:00 pm at Nassau North Chapel Home (55 N Station Plaza, Great Neck, NY). Burial will follow at New Montefiore Cemetery in West Babylon, NY.

Dr. David Breakstone will represent MERCAZ Olami at the funeral and will bring earth from the Land of Israel to be laid at the gravesite to symbolize the great love and passion Steve had for Israel and the Zionist Movement. Alan Silberman, immediate past President of Masorti Olami, will represent Masorti Olami at the funeral. 
Shiva will be at the home of the Wolnek Family, 16 Seaview Lane, Port Washington, NY 11050.  Minyan will be at 7:30AM and 7:30 PM.
