Mullum Cottage
As always lots going on at the Cottage with four new participants in the program. Many thanks to Andrew Hall for deliveries of his organic oranges, lemons and blood oranges, very gratefully received, they are delicious.
Both the Year 9 girls' groups have been very fortunate to do a session with Helena who worked for Chanel for about 20 years and had some fascinating stories, fashion tips and advice on achieving dreams despite any obstacles or limitations. Both groups really enjoyed it.
Year 10 girls are still working with Antonia Canosa on their tourism project and have completed their interviews. Well done girls.
A lot of creative work has been going on in the backyard in preparation for warmer weather, making it a much more pleasant area to do programs in. One of the year 9 groups and some of the boys have done quite a lot of planting and so far everything has survived, while another year 9 girls' group have been making hangings and beaded decorations.

One of the Year 9 groups are still working on their emotion boxes and when they're all complete we'll photograph all their wonderful creations.
Our beautiful Misty Henderson participated in the Pocket Rocket Band Comp at the YAC and received her cheque from Rosalie at the Flea Market. Some
of the Mullum girls are hoping to do the music for one of the Byron Flea Markets.
The boys are still enjoying skills based physical activities outside, while some interesting and relevant discussions take place over lunch.
Megan Donnelly was a girls' group participant for two years some years back and has gone onto better things. Last year the recipient of Glenn Wright'sdirector's pick while she was completing Year 12. This year she's heading to Sydney, having been accepted into AIM (Australian Institute of Music). Megan commented that she was teased quite a bit at school for doing her singing but she has hung in there and I am very proud of her.
Ellie Svikis, from last years girls' group decided to do a self portrait of herself as a ballet dancer and superimpose the "Wild Within", the swan from Swan Lake. She won 3rd place in the Ocean Shores Art Expo. Then on Saturday she danced with Byron Ballet in their Gala Production. Classical Acts 2 & 3 from Coppelia and Ravel's Bolero. So well done, nothing is going to stop her!
