Conforti Institute
It has been a few weeks (if not months) since you last heard from the Conforti Institute. We have not been on holiday or had an extended break. We have been busy, very busy! With the end of the school year we have completed 3 sessions of the Servant Leadership Programme.
This is for senior pupils who have been chosen by their schools to take forwards post of responsibility and leadership. With Hugh, Michael and Paddy leading on this, it has been a hectic few weeks. Hugh and John have continued with the Prison Spirituality Programme and have been to three prisons now! Michael, with Karen and help from a few others has been carrying the Global Education side of our work. Over 50% of our local schools (denominational and non-denominational) have be involved in some way and this is beyond what we were hoping to achieve!
On the family side of the Conforti Institute, John Convery SX celebrated his silver jubilee of ordination on June 29th (feast of Saints Peter and Paul) in St. Bernard's Parish, Coatbridge. This is where John began his priestly ministry. It was a great evening with a huge turnout of family, friends, volunteers and lots of parishioners as well. We wish John many more years of joyful ministry! Currently John is in Lourdes, France with the St. Margaret of Scotland Youth Group!
