Compassion Games
The Compassion Games utilize the best of human nature - the innate desire within us to play and to cooperate, to learn and to connect, and to be part of something bigger than ourselves - to catalyze compassionate action in communities around the world. Through the spirit of competitive altruism and play, players compete not against each other but with one another, to help develop the skills we need to be more compassionate toward others, toward the earth, and toward ourselves. By participating in the 2015 Annual Compassion Games Competition, players help make their communities kinder, safer, and more just places to live and play! Join us for our annual global celebration of compassionate action around the world, from September 11, the U.S. National Day of Service to September 21, the U.N.'s International Day of Peace! International Day of Peace
| Dr Goodall's Message for the 2015 United Nations International Day of Peace |
International Day of Peace, September 21st of each year, was created by a United Nations Resolution in the 1980s. Peace Day has grown to become a time for global celebration, education, and reflection on peacebuilding in local communities and throughout the world.
Anyone, anywhere can celebrate Peace Day. It can be as simple as lighting a candle at noon, sitting in silent meditation, or doing a good deed for someone you don't know. Or it can involve getting your co-workers, organization, community or government engaged in a large event. You can also share thoughts, messages and pictures to commemorate Peace Day on social media. Take Part!

As a filmmaker, Hubert Sauper does not take the road less traveled. That would be far too easy. He doesn't, in fact, take roads much at all. First he spent two years on his French farm building his own ultralight plane out of tin and canvas and lawnmower wheels. Then, in 2010, he flew it from France to southern Sudan. And then things got interesting. Discover more.

Encouraging Youth to Vote, and For the Right Reasons
By Adrian Alfred
It is my belief that youth from across the globe can make a difference in all spheres of society; the voices of the youth must be heard since we are the future leaders. We have opinions and we want our voices to be heard. We sometimes believe that our voices don't matter or that no one ever takes the time to listen to us. The world is rapidly changing and in order to create and implement policies and programmes geared towards youth, the youth themselves must play an active role in the decision-making process in order for their interests to be heard by policymakers.
