"There are no borders, no limits..."

Pope Francis tells us to bring Christ to everyone and into very area of life. It is indeed a joyous obligation, an opportunity to be ourselves and let God's light shine through us.

So,  go ahead... Bring those barriers down.  Make some noise!

Go and Make Disciples

Pope Francis at WYD 2013 Pilgrims gathered for the closing Mass of World Youth Day celebrated by Pope Francis on Copacabana beach in Rio de Janeiro July 28. An estimated 3 million people attended -- one of the largest crowds in the history of World Youth Day.

"Where does Jesus send us? There are no borders, no limits: he sends us to everyone. The Gospel is for everyone, not just for some. It is not only for those who seem closer to us, more receptive, more welcoming. It is for everyone. Do not be afraid to go and to bring Christ into every area of life, to the fringes of society, even to those who seem farthest away, most indifferent. The Lord seeks everyone, he wants everyone to feel the warmth of his mercy and his love." - Pope Francis's closing homily, World Youth Day, 2013.

   Fast Action

As people of faith, we believe that we must engage our communities in prayerful action in solidarity with those whose lives are directly impacted by our unjust immigration policies, and who will be impacted by both just and unjust reforms being considered by policy makers.

The Interfaith Immigration Coalition invites you join us in 40 days of fasting, prayer, and advocacy from September 9 to October 18

that we hope will transform our own hearts and the heart of our country for immigration reform.

Interfaith collaboration marks border work to help migrants

Interfaith working together Standing up with faith communities in support of migrants who cross the border illegally has long been an inter-religious effort in southern Arizona.

During a five-day Social Action Summer Institute at the University of Arizona in June, Tucson Bishop Gerald Kicanas, Archbishop Jose Ulises Macias Salcedo of Hermosillo, Mexico, and current and former leaders of Protestant, Jewish and Catholic congregations laid out what motivates their efforts and how their communities aid and advocate for immigrants.

Bp. Macias' homily at the opening Mass of the institute explained how the word "pontiff" or "pontifice" in Spanish has Latin roots in the term "bridge-builder." "We should not be building walls, but bridges," he said. "But this is difficult work." Read more.

Faith meets Faith @ theGYM August 31st!

Attention Youth Ministers in the Metro Boston, Providence, Worcester Areas!

Faith Meets Faith theGYM in collaboration with the Missionary Alliance of New England is inviting youths who have participated in a Mission Trip from their parish in the past two years, to this day of reflection on Faith meet Faith. We are inviting three to five youths from each parish.

We are offering this reflection/follow up experience as a way to aid these young people as they look back at the experience they had in mission service, deepen some ideas about mission theology and praxis, witness best practices from their experience and enable us to introduce them to our mission praxis as well as offering this as an exercise of the Year of Faith. Faith meets Faith is an opportunity for them to discover that it was their faith that motivated them to serve as they did.

The day will include prayer time, sharing of the Mission Trips, group input on mission learnings, viewing the video SEND, RECEIVE, SET FREE on the 1986 US Bishops Pastoral on MISSION, sharing of wider mission experiences, and opportunities to continue the call to mission through the National Catholic Volunteer Network's publication RESPONSE.
