Consider these words from Unity co-founder Chas. Fillmore:

"It is your mission to express all that you can imagine God to be. Let this be your standard of achievement; never lower it... You can attain to everything that you can imagine. If you can imagine that it is possible to God, it is also possible to you... This is the Law...

"God is, and we are. Let us live in His world - not a world to be tomorrow, next month, next year, or next century, but here and now. God's beautiful universe is all about us, only awaiting our acknowledgement of its presence. Let us know God and live - live with love and joy, health and peace, her evermore."     (Talks on Truth, p. 99-100)

Most of you have heard me quote these words before. They continue to be my touchstone and my message. Indeed, they constitute the goal of my own life. Of course, I don't always remember or behave as though I believe it, but I do.

I imagine - I believe - that it is possible to live in peace, now. I imagine - I believe - that it is possible to see the circumstances of my life with eyes of Love. I imagine - I believe - it is possible to recognize my limited human thoughts, acknowledge that they exist, and know that they are the product of the organic brain in my skill. I imagine - I believe - it is possible to allow them to pass, without basing my actions on them. I imagine - I believe - it is possible to love even those aspects of myself which my human, egoic mind finds wanting. I imagine - I believe - it is possible to stop believing the old programming in my head which tells me I am "too" anything: too lazy, too sloppy, too fat, too old, to uneducated, too unsophisticated, too...

I imagine - I believe - that it is possible to God to recognize all of this for what it is: the remnants of centuries of error-thought, expressing in my human, organic brain. Over time, the collective consciousness of which we are each a part has come to believe in the reality and inevitability of pain, suffering, war, lack, illness, poverty, starvation, and a thousand other types of death. I imagine - I believe - it is possible for That-Which-We-Call-God to know better. I choose to know better. I choose to believe it is possible for me to live my day-to-day live in the awareness of the Truth of Good-Without-Opposite.

John Lennon wrote, "You may say that I'm a dreamer, but I'm not the only one." Throughout history, spiritual masters have shared this message of "love and joy, health and peace, here evermore." I imagine - I believe - it is possible to choose these blessings of love, joy, health, peace, and so much more, right here, right now, in this very moment. It is a choice we make from our hearts, not as a result of analyzing the evidence of outer circumstances with our human brains. The human brain does the very best it can with the data it receives. We are very blessed by the workings of our human brains! And... there is another Source of intelligence within us, which we might term the Wisdom of the Heart. This Source of intelligence has a higher perspective, and sees Wholeness instead of fragmentary pieces of evidence. The human brain connects the dots of the data it receives and comes to a conclusion based on whatever story it makes up around that evidence. The Wisdom of the Heart, which I imagine - I believe - to be the Christ Mind expressing at the point we are, knows more. It knows Truth.

I imagine - I believe - it is possible to live my life from the perspective of that Christ Mind, in the awareness of the Oneness which knows only "love and joy, health and peace, here evermore." I do believe that it is our mission to express all that we can imagine is possible to That-Within-Us-Which-We-Might-Call-God. I do believe that if we can imagine that something is possible to That, it also possible to us. I do believe it is possible for us to live with love and joy, health and peace, here evermore. I hope you'll join me, and know that the world is One, now.

Blessings and namaskar (the Divine within me blesses and honors the Divine within you)

New Classes Start this Week

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in classes. In class, you will get to know your fellow travelers along the spiritual path, and you will gain more understanding about how to put spiritual principles to work in your life. Additionally, we laugh a lot, we cry together sometimes, and we have the opportunity to PRACTICE together.  You may also attend classes which have already started. There will always be something of value, even if you've never walked into a class before.

Classes are offered on a love offering basis, and EVERYONE is welcome to attend. For those who are interested in credentialing as Unity teachers or ministers, Unity Institute credit is generally available. Please speak with Rev. Nita if you have questions about classes or credentialing.

Art for Your Heart  THIS SUNDAY, 2/15

Join us on Sunday (12:00 to 2:00) for a simple heart-filled art activity.  Be prepared to engage your heart and hands to allow for a manifestation of Divine Love flowing through YOU!

This week, notice as you read magazines (Daily Word, etc.) and other print media what images, words or phrases you feel drawn to.  Cut them out and stick them in a clear baggie or envelope for you to bring to this art activity. We will begin our time together with a brief moving meditation in the sanctuary followed by a time of reflection to allow ourselves to align with the creative energy of Divine Source flowing through us.

Our art activity will take place in the adult classroom (the area where we set up potluck).  You will transform a glass bottle into a bud vase.  Be prepared to get your hands messy!  Using multi-colored tissue paper, collected words/phrases/images you have gathered and diluted white glue, you will create a unique bud vase that will grace your home with heartfelt art by the end of the afternoon.  All supplies will be provided.  Feel free to bring a glass bottle of your own in addition to your collection of phrases/images/words that speak to you.  Tissue paper, white glue, foam applicators and a limited number of bottles will be available for your use.  Cathi Brandon will be facilitating this event.  Love offering for Unity Spiritual Center of Peace will be gracefully accepted.

CHILDCARE IS ALWAYS AVAILABLE DURING SUNDAY MORNING SERVICE
Our Sunday School teachers look forward to sharing Unity principles with your children aged 4-12. Our nursery is available for the very young ones, as well. We provide professionally trained and screened childcare for those ages 0-3, so that you may enjoy attending service while knowing that your little ones are well cared-for.
