Before we begin... a question: Do you have experience with in the world of commercial leasing? If yes, and you'd be willing to share your expertise, please reply and let us know. Our lease is up next year- we'd love to stay where we are, and... life is choices. We want to make the best possible one.
Moving on... Those of you who listen to my Sunday lessons, talks know that we've been discussing the concept of Divine Ideas, and what to do with them. There is a discernible, repeatable process involved as our awareness of a possibility moves from the Infinite Field of Potential into our mind as an idea and then on into expression. Our work is to cooperate with that process, remaining willing to release whatever is in the way of the expression of our Divine Ideas, as well as remaining willing to use our hands and our feet and our words and our actions to bring those ideas into manifestation.

We can think of this as "living as if..." whatever that particular idea represents is already true. Because, if it is really a divinely-inspired idea, it already is True in the realm of the Absolute. In the words of the well-known mystics, Lennon & McCartney, "There's nothing you can do that can't be done, nothing you can sing that can't be sung..." Stated affirmatively in the words of our Unity co-founder Charles Fillmore, "If you imagine that it is possible to God, it is also possible to you." It is possible because it already
is.
This discussion around Divine Ideas was prompted by a realization I had a few weeks ago around the to stop calling myself a "seeker". The Divine Idea which emerged for me in that moment was that this, and every moment, is an opportunity to live fully and completely the Truth I know. That it was time for me to stop "hiding" behind the label of "seeker" and move more fully into living as the Knower I know is within me, which we call the Christ. We call ourselves "seekers" - affirming that we are always seeking! Seeking is good, but at some point, we must find. The assurance from our Elder Brother and WayShower, Jesus, is:
"Ask, and it will be given you; seek, and you will find; knock, and the door will be opened for you. For everyone who asks receives, and everyone who searches finds, and for everyone who knocks, the door will be opened." Mt.7:7-8
This is worded a bit differently in the 2nd saying of Jesus in the Gospel of Thomas (one of the Nag Hammadi texts found in Egypt in 1945.)
"Let him who seeks continue seeking until he finds. When he finds, he will become troubled. When he becomes troubled, he will be astonished, and he will rule over the All."
For me, this expansion is helpful: as one who has been seeking a long, long time it feels like time for me to admit that seeking has become a way of postponing my Good. As long as I am still seeking, I am placing distance between where I am and where the Truth I claim to believe is. In that moment that I "find", I do indeed become troubled! Because, if I have really found the Truth I claim to be seeking, then I must begin living my life in accordance with that Truth.
Please understand- I do not think we should ever stop seeking to understand more and more fully. Only a fool would declare, "That's it! I've got it, I know everything there is to know, and I'm done now." Of course, we are always moving into fuller and fuller expression of That Which We Call God. At some point, however, we must stop learning about Truth, and start consciously and willingly living Truth. This is, after all, one of our five basic Unity principles: It is not enough to know Truth, we must live the Truth we know.
Our work, then, is to really go all in and claim the intention each day to live fully and completely our Divinity, as best we can. To stop excusing ourselves by saying, "...after all, I'm only human." Yes, you are fully human, and yes, you are fully Divine. Most of us have chosen to live within the limits of our human-ness since the day we were born into this lifetime. It is time to claim and consciously bring into expression the Divine Idea that we are also, right here and right now, fully, completely, and eternally, Divine. Live the Truth you have found. And when that is troubling (as it surely will be), take a deep breath and remain willing.

Blessings and Namaskar (which means, the Divine in me recognizes the Divine in you)Rev. Nita
