Growing & Improving Your Sales |
Do you concentrate your sales strategy on acquiring new customers? Studies have shown that it's much easier (and less expensive) to grow revenue by targeting your existing customer base. "Maximizing Sales with Existing Customers" provides some details on how to accomplish this.
Since many business owners have little sales experience they need some guidance and assistance. Whether you are new to selling or are uncomfortable selling, "Proven Sales Tips for Introverts" offers several tips to become a more proficient at selling. PS: Don't be fooled by the title; this is an excellent article for all business owners, and also offers tips to increase your networking skills.
Niche businesses are great and terrible at the same time. On the plus side, you get to laser focus on a market and product set. The bad part? Your business may seem to have very small potential. But the possibilities might be a lot bigger than you think. Read "4 Tips to Expand Your Niche Business" to see how some "outside the box" thinking helped one business. |

Managing Your Business |
OK, the Super Bowl is over (hope your team won), so there's no football for several months. However, the National Football League is a very successful business, so read "10 Business Lessons from the NFL" to find corollaries that can help your business.
Many businesses start as a craft or hobby activity, then grow into a real business. However, managing the day-to-day and long term aspects of managing a business can be challenging. It's tempting to spend most of your time creating things, and not enough time marketing and selling them and planning for the future. This often results in lots of nice products, but few sales. If you find yourself in this situation, or want to avoid it altogether, read "10 Essentials for Handmade Business Success." |

Promoting And Marketing Your Business | |
Winning publicity and media exposure for your business is part of an entrepreneur's job. Especially when you're just starting or growing a business, it's critically important to get your name out there. You know that your product or service is innovative, game-changing and indispensable. "Tips for Pitching the Media" offers some pointers on how to let everyone else know too.
Have you ever left your house heading somewhere that you don't go to often? But without thinking you slipped into auto pilot and ended up at a place that you always go to? It's a habit formed by repeated actions. Without thinking, you'll slip into it over and over and over again. As a small business owner, you may have a few marketing habits that need shifting into a different direction. "Change Your Mind, Change Your Marketing" offers some tips to change some habits.
launching a new product can be risky, but if you take stock of the points in "5 Attributes of a Successful New Product" before you start thinking about creating your blockbuster, you should stand an even greater chance of turning your idea into a sure-fire success. |
