Back to School Night Teacher and Staff Dinner
Thursday, September 29th
On Thursday, September 29th, the Muirlands Foundation will host dinner for the teachers and staff. Chipotle in La Jolla has graciously donated the main course (a variety of burritos, chips and guacamole). Please help us with salads and desserts by signing up here. If you would like to make a card indicating what you have created and who it is from, you are welcome to do so. We have many young aspiring bakers! Bring your items to the library by 3:00. Dinner will start promptly at 3:45 pm so that the teachers can get to their rooms by 4:45 pm. You can leave your dishes and all other items in the kitchen area of the library. If you need to drop off in the morning, then salads that need refrigeration can go in the nurse's fridge. Desserts can go in the fridge or in the office (if they need to be dropped off in the morning.)
Following the dinner, all of your items will be in the Library kitchen for pick up. Thank you all in advance for creating a yummy dinner for our teachers and staff at Muirlands!

 From the Health Office
It is always a good idea to remind your children to notice if their scalp is unusually itchy. Sometimes, pesky little lice are the culprit. If you are not sure what to look for, please suggest that your child swing by the Health Office. Anyone with hair can get lice, it is not a sign of poor hygiene. In the event we discover living lice, we will notify the student and parent. Student stays in school and gets treatment at home; shampoo, wash linen (dry with high heat). Lice do not jump or fly (hooray!!).
Hygiene is always important, but especially at the beginning of the school-year with so much people-contact, so try to increase hand-washing.
A few things on our 'Wish List':
- Individually wrapped healthy snacks: i.e.: Granola Bars, Crackers, Cheese, jerky, seaweed, trail mix (big hit last year), fruit gummies,...
- Throat Lozenges (cough drops)
- Junior strength Tylenol and Motrin
- Kleenex
- Small paper Dixie Cups or similar cups
- Disinfectant Wipes
- Toothbrushes, toothpaste and mouthwash
- Spray deodorant
- Feminine products (including some underwear and socks)
- Creams/Body Lotion in the girl's bathroom is always welcomed
Thank you for your help!
