Happy Heart Run Pledges Due TOMORROW (Wednesday)
Muirlands Foundation greatly appreciates all the pledges for the runners. These funds make it possible for us to have top notch equipment for a well-rounded PE program. Students, please return your totaled pledge sheet and donations to your PE teacher in an envelope marked with your name, PE teacher and PE period. Thank you for your support!

Muirlands 5-on-5 Lunchtime Soccer Tournament Thurs., March 10th
Tomorrow is the Last Day to Sign Up!
Tournament is open to all Muirlands students. Sign up sheets are available in both the boy's and girl's locker rooms. The last day to sign up is Wed. March 9th. Games will begin during lunch on Thursday, March 10th on the lower field. Please get your team signed up and report to the soccer fields (lower field) at the beginning of lunch on March 10th. Principal Klein and Foundation Board will provide information and updates. Parent input is important and welcome as the board makes plans and decisions -- Please come join us and participate!

6-Week Progress Reporting Period Ends This Friday
 This Friday, March 11th, ends the first progress reporting period of Semester 2. You and your child should take advantage of PowerSchool Parent Portal to monitor performance on an ongoing basis so there are no report card surprises. If your child's grades need improvement: - Please consider contacting your child's counselor for additional advice or strategies.
- Muirlands offers After School Homework Help on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, and a late bus that leaves at 3:40 p.m. so all students can take advantage of this extra time on task.
- In addition, many teachers host small group tutoring and support in their classrooms during certain lunchtimes and by appointment.

San Diego Youth Art Month Closing Reception, Sunday March 13th, 1-2:30pm
The San Diego Youth Art Month closing reception is Sunday, March 13th from 1-2:30pm at the San Diego Art Institute in Balboa Park. Muirlands Art students Myka Gary, Jorge Meckelein, Azeneth Gutierrez and Jessie Gomez have jury-selected pieces in this exhibit. Click here for a flyer.

Muirlands Parent-Paid Bus for TPES Area Students
 Are you interested in your child riding the parent-paid school bus from the TPES area to Muirlands next year? The Bus Committee is assessing interest in continuing and possibly expanding the program for the 2016/17 year. Currently the bus has two stops in the TPES area and costs $500/year.
