Student Lunch Meeting Tomorrow (Wed) Room 403 -- Officer Elections!
   
  


A student lunch meeting will be held TOMORROW (WEDNESDAY) in room 403 (Ms. Halpern's classroom). This is an important meeting, as students will be voting for club officers. All interested Science Olympiad students are encouraged to run for office.

An UPDATED practice schedule
has been posted to the website. Please check the schedule, as PRACTICES FOR ADDITIONAL EVENTS are beginning after Thanksgiving Break.   

If you have not yet turned in your student registration paperwork, please do so ASAP.

8th Grade East Coast Expedition 

The 8th Grade East Coast Expedition is scheduled for March 26-April 2, 2016. Registration is closed. Click here for the trip website.

7th Grade Yosemite Trip  

The 7th Grade Yosemite Trip dates have been FINALIZED:Wednesday, June 29 - Sunday July 3, 2016.

Registration must be received (with deposit) by World Expedition by THIS Friday, Nov. 20th. Financial Assistance Application is also due to Ms. Judy Visque by this Friday, Nov. 20th and should be dropped off at Rm B6 by 2:30pm.

Gently Used Jacket & Sweatshirt Drive Nov. 30th - Dec. 4th
Benefiting Genisis Diez/Orphaned Children in Ensenada  
 


The Muirlands Physical Education teachers will be holding a gently used jacket/ sweatshirt drive. This year we will be donating the clothes to Genesis Diez, which helps orphaned kids in the Ensenada area.  Please feel free to email Coach Wood with any questions:

Leave Your Mark at Muirlands!   
 Add Your Personalized Tile to Our Wall 


Leave your mark AND benefit the Muirlands Foundation by decorating a ceramic tile to be added to our existing project. Tile kits can be purchased online for $50 and picked up at the front office (please bring your receipt). Each kit includes a tile, paint and a brush. Simply paint the tile with a design of your choice and return it to the front office. We will fire it and add it to the tile wall outside the Auditorium (installation planned for late February).

This is a GREAT holiday project for your child or the whole family!

1. The Upper Garden is cleaned up, weeded, and ready for planting.  Foundation volunteers and School Staff are partnering on a plan for best use. To help with next steps, email [email protected].

On Wednesday, December 2nd, Muirlands Foundation needs your help to provide a winter holiday lunch for our wonderful teachers and staff! This comes up quickly after Thanksgiving break, so please help us plan ahead and do a great job.
 
8th Grade Western BBQ
Friday, December 18th During Lunch

8th Graders, you are invited to a  Western BBQ on Friday Dec. 18th  at 11:30. This is a real slow cooked BBQ! Click here to learn more about this fun Muirlands  tradition. Be sure to come to school on the 18th dressed in Western attire.  
 
Students need a ticket to attend: 
  • Suggested donation for tickets is $5-$10. (The cost of food and supplies has increased, so larger donations are greatly appreciated to cover those costs).
  • Tickets will be available at the office Financial Window before school and during lunch through Wed. 12/16.  Tickets can also be secured online.  Note: Students ordering online will still need to pick up a hard copy ticket at the Financial Window during the above times -- Please bring your online receipt.

LJHS Happenings
Vikings Varsity Basketball at PETCO Park
Tuesday Dec. 1st, 7:20pm

Don't miss the excitement! La Jolla boys Varsity Basketball will open its season at Petco Park on a specially constructed outdoor court on Tuesday, December 1st at 7:20 pm, versus Helix High.

Tickets are $15 each and can be purchased from basketball players at Muirlands and LJHS.
