6th Grade Camp Cuyamaca
Parent & student information meeting is This Thursday, Oct. 22nd, 5:30pm, Auditorium.
The San Diego County of Outdoor Education (SDCOE) provides experiential learning programs that enhance awareness and
scientific understanding of the natural world and their connection to it. Their week-long
camp experience - held during Spring Break (March 28th - April 1st) expands on these concepts and provides 6th graders opportunities for social growth, self-reliance and teamwork. Please attend our informational meeting to discuss the itinerary, cost, registration, eligibility requirements, scholarship opportunities, & deadlines.

Two Great Opportunities for to Help our Campus Gardens!
1. THIS FRIDAY, Oct. 23rd, after school: Join us to clean out the old and prepare for the new! A group of parents and students are meeting to spruce up the garden at the top of the school near the bungalows. Bring garden gloves and tools if you have them. Tours are intended for the parents of new students enrolling for the 2016-2017 school year. The tours will only be available to parents of incoming students. No children will be permitted to attend the tour. To help ensure a productive experience, tours will be capped at a total of 25 people.
There will be an opportunity for incoming students to tour Muirlands Middle School in May when the 5th grade classes visit. Please CLICK HERE to sign up for a tour slot. Tours will run from 8:30-9:30 in the Library. Please check-in at the front office where you will be directed to the Library.

No experience necessary - just a willingness to help!
Art: Help in the classroom/hanging artwork around school (no art background required!)

6th and 7th Grade BBQ Coordinator: Help coordinate a few volunteers and serve bbq food for this on-campus event in December. Email lisabonebrake@me.com.
8th Grade BBQ Team: Help coordinate a few volunteers and work with a few teachers to serve bbq and implement games for this annual 8th grade December event. Email lisabonebrake@me.com.

Muirlands Mixer Thank You!

Robotics Workshops this Weekend at the Jolla Library/Rifford Library:
Ideal for middle school. UCSD students teach how to build and program a robot and help kids enter their robot in a competition hosted
by UCSD.
- Day 1: Robot Building (Friday, Oct. 23, 3-5:30 pm)
- Day 2: Robot programming fundamentals (Saturday, Oct. 24, 1-4 pm)
- Day 3: Competition preparation. (Sunday, Oct. 25 12:30 - 2:30 pm)
