My Stubborn Tongue
Thursday, August 14th, 8pm
Join RJeneration for some great theater at a discount!
My Stubborn Tongue is a story about a girl who refuses to be defined by her ORIGINS: Russian in America, Jewish in Russia, poor little immigrant. The only way out is the English language - and so begins a journey into the wild antics of the letter "u," the spit-firing enunciations of "th," and the unforeseen hazards of not knowing idioms. Experience the heartbreak and hilarity - the Russian version of what it means to be an American!
We will be going as a group on August 14th but the play runs from August 6th to the 24th and you may use the following discount codes for your purchase regardless of when you choose to attend.
Discount Codes: EARLYRJEN35 - 35% OFF BY JULY 15TH RJEN30 - 30% FOR RJENERATION (Still on for all dates)
Where: New Ohio Theater 154 Christopher Street

My Stubborn Tongue was selected for Emerging Artists Theater One Woman Standing Festival and was performed on March 27th, 2014.

Support an Israeli Grassroots Org, so much like RJeneration
Our friends at an Israel based grassroots community org Fishka launched a 3 part campaign
1. This weekend (25-26 July) in Tel Aviv, they will create programs for families with young kids from Ashkelon and the surrounding cities in the south of Israel helping them for just a while, escape the distress of non stop sirens
2. Collect parcels for combat engineers stationed in Gaza
3. Collect items necessary for people unable to leave their houses (mainly elderly and handicapped), as well as provide volunteer psychological aid.
This campaign and it outcome depends on the amount of money Fishka is be able to mobilize. Please consider supporting them financially, and sharing with others. Its incredible to see a grassroots just like our own, built from the ground up by volunteers, take on a limitless project like this one. Let's show our support
Your facebook reposts will help Fishka reach as many supporters as possible. Here you can find the messages in Hebrew and Russian -

About RJeneration
Born in the Soviet Union -- made in AmericaWe came to America as kids and teens, brought by our parents. Some were born enroute, and some were born here. We are a generation of Americans with a second culture and language, a Russian heritage, Jewish roots, and a defining immigrant experience. We've juggled our "hybrid" Russian-Jewish-American identity throughout our lives. Many of us went to the top high schools and colleges in the country. English is our primary language, but we still speak Russian. Runglish is also our style. We're Jewish, despite yeshiva traumas. We're in our 20's and 30's, busy building successful careers in every imaginable field. Some of us are already household names - Sergey Brin, Gary Shteyngart, David Bezmozgis, Lenny Krayzelberg, Mila Kunis, Regina Spektor. Many others are sure to follow and make their mark. The RJeneration community brings us together to network, make connections, explore the richness of our unique Russian-Jewish-American identity, showcase and celebrate RJeneration's rising stars, and engage in Russian and Jewish life all around us.For more information visit our website at: http://www.RJeneration.org
