What would you say if we told you that showing love and appreciation to women will bring on spring? International Women's Day is March 8th and on March 9th, RJen will deliver love, kind words, and chocolate to older ladies of our community, a group that gets so much less than it deserves. We need you! Join us as part of RJen Delivers Sunday as we share time, happiness, stories, and see faces brightened and snow melting.
On March 12th we invite you to a photography presentation and talk with Julian Voloj, an incredible, award wining photographer who has traveled the world documenting diaspora life in places like Cuba, Morocco, Lithuania, Harlem... This is the last of our 3 part series in partnership with the Jewish Art Salon and one not to miss.
On March 15th treat the whole family to an original performance, the Purim Spiel Shadow Puppet Theater & Carnival performed in both Russian and English. After many years of sold out shows in Manhattan, this incredible show is coming to a beautiful Art Deco theater in N orth Brooklyn, just 1 train stop from the city. Kids 2 to 10 will have a blast; as will you.
Just 2 more days and we enter "March", at least in theory.

International Women's Day
Rjeneration Delivers
(chocolates in arms)
Sunday, March 9th, 11 am
Join us on Sunday, March 9th as we bring flowers, care packages and warmth to the homes of elderly, Russian-speaking women in our community, those who need extra love and care and these days get so much less than they deserve.
This is a great chance to reconnect with your past and if you are a parent to bring your child and open them up to the world of volunteering. Every year we do this, we get wonderful feedback from the seniors and from the participants. Give and get back.
We will meet up at 11:00am near the D train in Bensonhurst, Brooklyn, where we'll make our first stop at a local senior citizen center before fanning out to make deliveries and spend some quality time with home-bound seniors. This is an amazing event for volunteers and seniors alike - don't miss the chance to make it happen!
Registration is required. We ask participants to contribute $10/person, to cover the cost of flowers and small care packages.

For over two decades Voloj has documented Jewish diaspora and Jewish heritage sites in countries as diverse as Cuba, Lithuania, Latvia, Georgia, and Morocco. His portrait photography includes depictions of African-Americans who adopted Judaism in an attempt to foster identity; Hasidic Jews recreating Eastern European shtetls in the heart of Brooklyn; World War II veterans from the former Soviet Union, as well as B'nai Anusim reclaiming their heritage. This photo presentation and discussion will focus on global diaspora, diverse community development, life under varied political rules, challenges, struggles, and celebrations. About RJeneration
Born in the Soviet Union -- made in AmericaWe came to America as kids and teens, brought by our parents. Some were born enroute, and some were born here. We are a generation of Americans with a second culture and language, a Russian heritage, Jewish roots, and a defining immigrant experience. We've juggled our "hybrid" Russian-Jewish-American identity throughout our lives. Many of us went to the top high schools and colleges in the country. English is our primary language, but we still speak Russian. Runglish is also our style. We're Jewish, despite yeshiva traumas. We're in our 20's and 30's, busy building successful careers in every imaginable field. Some of us are already household names - Sergey Brin, Gary Shteyngart, David Bezmozgis, Lenny Krayzelberg, Mila Kunis, Regina Spektor. Many others are sure to follow and make their mark. The RJeneration community brings us together to network, make connections, explore the richness of our unique Russian-Jewish-American identity, showcase and celebrate RJeneration's rising stars, and engage in Russian and Jewish life all around us.For more information visit our website at: http://www.RJeneration.org
