Presiding Bishop Calls for a Season of Prayer
The Most Rev. Michael Curry, presiding bishop, has called for a season of prayer for regions of the Anglican Communion that are experiencing violence and civil strive. "In this season of Resurrection, I call on everyone to pray for our brothers and sisters where there is much burden and little hope," the presiding bishop said. Interfaith Power and Light Faith Climate Action Week
The preach-in on global warming will encompass nine days in April surrounding Earth Day. The nearest Sunday is April 17. The theme is "Paris and Beyond" and will focus on how achieving the climate protection goals in the Paris Agreement require action from all of us. Charles H. Dick, Esq.
Outstanding Attorney of the Year
Congratulations to Diocesan Chancellor Charles Dick who is being recognized as outstanding attorney of the year by the San Diego County Bar Association. This award is given to an exemplary attorney who provides outstanding community service above and beyond just service to the legal profession. Mr. Dick, who is also a member of St. James, La Jolla, will be honored at the annual awards luncheon and celebration of community service on Friday, May 6 at the Westin in San Diego. Well done!

Celebrations of New Ministry
Help us welcome the Rev. Mark Hargreaves to new ministry at St. James by-the-Sea, 743 Prospect St., La Jolla. The Celebration of New Ministry will be Sunday, May 1 at 5 p.m. at St. James by-the-Sea.

Likewise, we plan to celebrate new ministry with the Rev. Janine Schenone and the people of Good Samaritan on Saturday, June 18 at 2 p.m. 4321 Eastgate Mall, San Diego, 92121.  All are welcome and encouraged to attend both celebrations.

Ordinations & Diocesanwide Choir

All are welcome and encouraged to attend this holy service. St. Paul's Cathedral invites members of church choirs throughout the diocese to sing in a diocesan choir for this joyful occasion. School for Ministry Graduate to Speak at National Evangelism Conference
Local candidate for holy orders, Chris Harris, will present at the Invite Welcome Connect (IWC) Summit in Houston Texas, April 28-30. The IWC Summit is the Episcopal Church's evangelism conference open to all clergy and lay leaders who not only want to see their congregations grow, but to flourish and transform into vital, creative communities . Whether your congregation is small or large, new or established, this summit will help you create intentional and transformational newcomer ministries. dsc Service Summit
The Diocesan Service Coalition (DSC) is a consortium of outreach coordinators throughout the diocese who meet quarterly to network, share ideas, and collaborate on outreach projects. Our winter service summit will be Saturday, April 16, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m. at St. Peter's, 334 14th St., Del Mar. All are invited. Our afternoon session begins at 12:30 p.m. and features a panel of speakers talking about prison ministry. ProMentors Training & Orientation
ProMentors is a Christian mentoring program for prisoners released in San Diego County. We have an immediate need for Christian men who will commit to mentoring a prisoner. The time commitment is one - three hours per week for about one year. Living Generously Annual Conference

Trips to the Holy Land, Turkey and Greece with David Moseley, Ph.D.
Embark on an adventure this summer with David Moseley, PhD, religious studies teacher at The Bishop's School, theologian-in-residence at St. Paul's Cathedral, and former professor of theology at the University of San Diego. As well as leading trips to the Holy Land (Israel, Palestine and Jordan) in June and working alongside local guides, David will teach a series of classes for trip participants about the history, geography and culture of the places visited on the trip. icon 4 Icon Writing Retreat
