Future Church Glimpse
The Rt. Rev. Kirk Smith, bishop of Arizona, recently wrote to his flock about a visit to the Diocese of San Joaquin. In 2007, the then-bishop disaffiliated with the Episcopal Church and took all but two church properties with him. He writes: "One diocesan staff member said that she believed that loss of property has been a blessing in disguise for numerous congregations (many of which continue to attract new members), and actually serves as a model for the larger Church of what other churches may look like down the road." Read the bishop's brief letter.
