Frequently Asked Questions
Q. How many people can I nominate?
A. One person per congregation. In extraordinary cases, when it makes sense, a couple may be nominated together.

Q. If I nominate someone, will he or she win?
A. Yes, every person nominated by a clergy person in charge of a congregation will receive an award.

Q. If I miss the deadline, can I still nominate someone?
A. No.

Q. When are the awards presented?
A. This year they will be given out during the afternoon business session of diocesan convention on Saturday, November 7 at All Souls', 1475 Catalina Blvd., San Diego. The presentation will take place sometime between 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. We will give you a more precise time estimate closer to Convention.

Q. Is it up to me to tell the recipient about the award?
A. Yes, we leave the announcement up to each clergy person so that you may make it a surprise, or not.

Q. Why do we have these awards?
A. The award is a good way to recognize the unsung heroes of your congregation, and to involve people in convention who otherwise would not attend.

Q. Can lay people nominate someone?
A. No. This award is specifically from the clergy person in charge of the congregation. Some clergy members choose to delegate the task of filling out the nomination form to a lay person, but the selection must be approved by the clergy person.

Q. What if I have more questions that are not answered here?
