Attention Stewardship Teams!
To All Those Invested in Church Stewardship:

Bishop Mathes strongly encourages all stewardship volunteers and staff members to attend the Stewardship track during the May 2 Leadership Academy at St. Bartholomew's in Poway. Representatives from the Episcopal Church Foundation will present six workshops, 75 minutes each, that teach stewardship basics and advanced stewardship practices and ideas. Bring your whole stewardship team to get everyone up-to-speed. Teams should plan to attend all three sessions to receive the maximum benefit from this pragmatic, hands-on workshop track.

Stewardship 101 (Jerry Campbell)
If your congregation is looking for a simple, straightforward and yet comprehensive annual pledge program to set your community on the path to better stewardship practices, look no further, this workshop is what you need.

Session 1 (10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) will be an overview of best practices and include a fill-in-the-date calendar template for planning, recruiting, and implementing a basic pledge program.

In Session 2 (12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.), participants will work in groups to build their own pledge program calendar with the support of the presenter. Sample letters and other resources will be available.

Session 3 (1:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.) will wrap up with an opportunity for teams to share their work.

What to Bringlaptop with internet capabilities (if possible), samples from past stewardship materials, an awareness of your congregation's calendar of activities through fall of 2015, the number of current pledging units and total number of potential pledging units.

Stewardship 201 (Terri Mathes)
If you've been using the same approach to stewardship for more than three years, then this workshop is for you.

Session 1 (10:15 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.) will discuss how demographic and technological shifts over the last ten years have affected giving to religion and how your congregation can adapt. We'll review a range of resources and discuss their use within your congregation's context.

In Session 2 (12:30 p.m. - 1:45 p.m.), parish groups will work with the presenter's support to create a timeline for adapting their existing stewardship program for greater success.

Session 3 (1:45 p.m. - 3 p.m.) will wrap up with an opportunity for teams to share their work.

What to Bring: laptop with internet capabilities (if possible), and past stewardship campaign materials
