New Dean Announced

I write to share the news that Mark H. Mann, Ph.D. has accepted my invitation to be the new dean of the School for Ministry (SFM). Professor Mann is the director of the Wesley Center and associate professor of theology at Point Loma Nazarene University. He has participated in ministries at the Episcopal Church Center for the past three years and is currently a professor at the SFM. 

As an ordained Nazarene minister, Professor Mann brings an appreciation of academic study and parish ministry to this work. He begins his new duties with the start of the 2015 spring semester. 

I want to thank the Rev. Alex Nagy, Ph.D. for his work as interim dean during the past semester. Father Nagy will continue to serve as director of field education. The Rev. Simon Mainwaring, Ph.D. will continue to serve as director of continuing education. It is extraordinary gift to have Professor Mann, Father Nagy and Father Mainwaring serving in the SFM with our gifted faculty. 

In this season of Epiphany, I pray that God's revelation of Jesus Christ as Lord will illumine your ministry.
