In 2009, Diocesan Council designated one Sunday each year as Cursillo Sunday. After consulting with our Cursillo Secretariat, I am designating January 18, 2015 as our Cursillo Sunday. If this Sunday does not work for your congregation, please choose a Sunday close to this date. This is an apt day to celebrate the spiritual development and leadership that occurs in the lives of those who participate in Cursillo. The purpose of Cursillo Sunday is to raise awareness in your congregation of this spiritual weekend. The next Cursillo weekend will be held at Camp Stevens April 23 through April 26, 2015.

On Cursillo Sunday, I encourage you to invite people who have experienced Cursillo to speak briefly in church. Perhaps you will have displays in your walkways with information and applications for the three-day weekend at Camp Stevens. Photos and music from past Cursillos may enhance the day as well.

I invite you to embrace this day as one of celebration for, and education about, a movement that has infused vitality into the spiritual lives of faithful Christians for more than half a century.
