Volunteers Wanted

The Diocese thrives when volunteers share their talents and expertise. If you have legal, business, human resources, financial or investment knowledge, we would like to speak with you about possible volunteer work. If you can provide a welcoming presence at the Episcopal Church Center, positions are open. An informal interview is required for any of these positions. Summer Programs Expanded for Refugees

Summer tutoring and enrichment programs will be expanded this summer at the Episcopal Refugee Network, according to the new executive director, Mr. Jake Young. "We intend to create a better growth and development program," he said. Read more.

  
Honoring Dean Carroll

The bishop's staff suite on the second floor of the Episcopal Church Center in Ocean Beach will be named after the Very Rev. James E. Carroll. "Naming the staff suite The Carroll Center in his honor is a fitting tribute to this kind, generous, and faithful man," said the Rt. Rev. James R. Mathes. Read more.  

 

Capital Campaign
To date, you have raised $2,197,596.82 toward the diocesan capital campaign goal of $2,500,000. This campaign will: establish clergy mentorships, renovate the Episcopal Church Center, provide loans and grants to parishes, and secure stable funding for the Bishop's Appeal. So far, 433 Episcopalians have donated representing 34 congregations, 1 thrift shop and The Bishop's School. Seventh Annual Quilt Exhibition

Experience the Joy of Dorcas House on June 28

The children of Dorcas House/Vida Joven in Tijuana invite you to visit them on Saturday, June 28. Dorcas House/Vida Joven is a foster home for children who are particularly vulnerable; about 60 percent of them have parents who are incarcerated. Advanced Icon-Painting Course

 

Sacred Murals Studio invites you to a five-day advanced icon-painting course that is devoted to studying three face-painting techniques used by medieval iconographers in Byzantine, Greece, Russia and Italy. North County Outreach Coordinators

dsc The Diocesan Service Coalition is a consortium of outreach/service coordinators at churches throughout the diocese who meet quarterly to network, share ideas and best practices, and collaborate on outreach projects. A Service Summit for north county churches will occur on Sunday, June 22 from 1 p.m. - 3 p.m. at St John's, 434 N. Iowa St., Fallbrook, CA 92028.
