UPDATES on the BUILD the SERVING CHURCH CAMPAIGN
"For unto us a child is born; unto us a son is given."
- Isaiah 9:6

May the peace and hope of Christ's birth be with you now and always.

Merry Christmas!

PBKJS

As we wrap up this year and look to the next, we offer you this greeting from our presiding bishop:

"I look forward to being in San Diego for your diocesan convention. I have seen some of the transformative ministry in the diocese during previous visits, and anticipate learning and seeing more on this visit."
The Most Rev. Katharine Jefferts Schori, presiding bishop of the Episcopal Church

Remember, Bishop Jefferts Schori will dedicate the Center on Friday, February 21 at 10 a.m. and will be the keynote speaker at the gala dinner that evening. Make sure these events are on your calendar. For more information, visit our campaign web pages online: www.edsd.org/servingchurch.

Wishing you and those you love a peace-filled Christmas,
The Capital Campaign Executive Team

Construction is Underway
"Shake yourself from the dust, rise up, O captive Jerusalem!" Isaiah 52:2
We are off and running with renovations at the Episcopal Church Center in Ocean Beach. The entire first level is being re-floored, re-walled, patched and painted. A new staircase (pictured above) has been installed, and new doorways have been cut.

These renovations bring the 1950s building up to code and increase its multi-purpose nature. The renovations also make it possible to provide even more services to those in need.

All ministries at the Center are continuing through construction. A special thanks to All Souls', Point Loma; Bethany Lutheran; Oasis Christian Fellowship and the Thank God It's Food (TGIF) group for serving dinner to over 100 guests last week without a functional kitchen.

Stay tuned for more construction updates. If you would like a tour, contact Canon for Mission Enterprise Nancy Holland, 619-823-8998.
