Happy Friday,
I am pleased to serve as one of the Distinguished CARAH Gala Hosts this year and I would LOVE to have you sit with me at my table tonight so we can celebrate Caribbean Americans for their outstanding contribution to society.
Click HERE to learn about the Awards.
The affair is in its 21st year and is one not to be missed.
I know this may seem last minute, and yes, you literally have a few more hours to purchase a ticket as NO TICKETS will be sold at the door, BUT this is my last attempt to lure you into an evening of celebration, importance, elegance, fun, frolic, good food, festivities, fresh new faces, and the icing on the cake - A Real Caribbean After Party!
I also know that the
$150 ticket will throw some of you off, but do remember that there is no price for blood, sweat and tears.
When you add passion in the mix, and commitment, and dedication, it really becomes even more priceless.
JUST DO IT!
You will not regret it.
Dr. Claire Nelson who is the force behind, in front and in the middle of this Gala, is dear to me, as we have done a lot together over the past few years including traveling to China for the China Friendship Tour, Ethiopia and Tanzania for the Leon Sullivan Foundation Journey of a Lifetime, and working on various projects too many to mention.
As women on the move, we have also spent considerable time brainstorming on numerous projects, and also just TALKING together because of mutual respect and admiration, and we draw strength from each other, so I really love that.
One of the my favorite things that I did with Dr. Nelson was to sit down with her on the PEP couch in 2011 and have a
PEP Talk with her...this is still one of my favorite pepisodes in Season 1.
Take a few minutes to watch the video below, and do not forget to link me by 4pm if you would like to attend and sit at my table TONIGHT!!!!
In the good doctor's own words TODAY,
"Power 1021 FM Boston is here to BROADCAST LIVE on radio;
This is new addition...so I m excited too. The parents of Roger Bobb are here as well as parents of Robert France.
We are hoping to LIVESTREAM that segment as well...we are working on it...
We go LIVE at 6pm."
Follow us at #CARAH2014 and click HERE for more information on this year's and past events and just in case you do not make it tonight, follow me on Facebook and Twitter as I will be blogging while also celebrating outstanding Caribbean people.
