Dear Subscribers,
Welcome to Fall (that is if you live in an area where the weather really changes). For those of us who live in the DMV area, we are literally seeing FALL in front of us. Apart from the dramatic temperature drop, the ladies are already wearing those thigh high boots and in some places, the leaves are also changing. This season is my favorite time of the year because it is cool enough to still enjoy the outdoors even if I may have to rock a light jacket. In a few days, it will be the last quarter of 2013, and like me, I am sure that many of you are realizing that some of the plans you made for this year are still not realized. In Jamaica, we have a saying "Man a plan, and God a wipe out." Even though these days that statement sounds alarming to me, the concept is that sometimes we plan for things to happen and life events get in the way. My advice to you is the same advice I am giving myself -- be not disheartened, just keep on pushing. I am still not 100% settled as far as traveling goes, but I wanted to pop in to send some sunshine and blessings your way. I am also in the process of doing an interview with an intern at a University who also wants to go into Public Relations and I am having way too much fun skyping with her. In fact, the more questions, she asks, the more I am also learning about myself. Here is a little snippet (I hope it brings a smile to your face).
Q:"So, Ms. Rosie, how do you juggle all that you do? You seem to work soooo hard and you are everywhere!"
A: "I think that is a fair statement, but a lot of what I do is not "work" to me. For the record, I am not EVERYWHERE; I am where I need to be."
Q: "And, would you say that you also play hard?"
A: "If enjoying life and doing the things I love and the things which are important to me is playing hard, than DEFINITELY!" Q: "So, it is fair to say that you have found the formula for balance?" A: "Hmmmmm, I never ever thought of it like that before, but maybe I should show you my BIKRAM balancing pose and you be the judge of that question?"
To be continued, and Welcome to the third quarter of 2013 when it comes on Tuesday, October 1.
