The best of Kentucky high school girls basketball comes together this week for the Houchens/KHSAA Girls' Sweet 16 Championships. With games played Wednesday, March 12, through Sunday, March 16, the competition heats up at WKU's E.A. Diddle Arena all week.

First-round games are Wednesday and Thursday at 12pm, 1:30pm, 6:30pm and 8pm. Quarterfinal games will be held Friday at 12pm, 1:30pm, 6:30pm and 8pm. Saturday begins the semifinals with games at 6:30 and 8pm. The championship game will be held on Sunday at 2pm, naming the state champion team! The late '60s and '70s brought the Philadelphia Sound, a style of soul music characterized by lush orchestra arrangements, featuring sweeping strings and piercing brass. Orchestra Kentucky presents its latest retro series, Philly Soul, this Saturday at 7:30pm at SKyPAC.
