    New Art Exhibits

    The new year begins with a new set of ongoing art exhibits at the Southern Kentucky Performing Arts Center and the Capitol Arts Center. Local artists put their skill on display for visitors at the SKyPAC Main and Children's galleries and the Capitol Arts Houchens and Mezzanine galleries. Showcasing now through January 17, the SKyPAC galleries feature the works of Kathryn Dettwiller and local kids for the Country Peddler Ad Design contest.

    The Capitol Arts Houchens gallery features works by Holy Trinity Lutheran School children and teacher Jill Willis for its "The Color of My Heart" exhibit, running now through February 14. See the art of a young Cuban immigrant who recently moved to Bowling Green with Alejandro Sala Torres' works on display at the Capitol Arts Mezzanine Gallery now through May 31.     Kick off the New Year with a focus on improving your health and making lifestyle changes. The 2014 Health & Wellness Expo brings together healthcare service providers, safety agencies and community organizations to provide free health screenings and information on healthy living.

    Special presentations and demonstrations take place on Saturday, January 11, from 8am to 12pm, plus door prizes are awarded. All services and information are free. For more information and a complete schedule of events, please call 270-745-1010 or visit the website below.
