    17th Annual Duncan Hines Festival

It's time to celebrate Bowling Green's native icon, the man behind the cake mix, Duncan Hines! For the 17th consecutive year, the Duncan Hines Festival celebrates the legacy of America's first food critic and legendary man. The Bowling Green Junior Woman's Club is proud to host the festival, and this year's events includes the BB&T Concert in the Park series, Adventures in Good Baking Contest and the very popular Uncle Duncan's Duck Derby! Proceeds from this event will benefit CASA of South Central Kentucky.

The festival begins Friday, July 12, at Circus Square Park from 6-11pm. Activities include Uncle Duncan's Duck Derby, a Brownie Eating Contest, kids' inflatables, vendors, face painting and other children's activities. The Concert in the Park series will feature Andy & the Rockers playing at 8pm. On Saturday, July 13, the Adventures in Good Baking Contest will be held at the Kentucky Museum. For information on the contest and details about specific events, please visit the official Duncan Hines Festival website below. Photo by Marshal Ray.

    BG Gauntlet Mud Run

It's time to get muddy! The BG Gauntlet Mud Run is this Saturday morning at Phil Moore Park. This 3.1 mile-long run is full of mud, a 16-obstacle course and lots of surprises along the way! Designed for fun and entertainment, no serious racing is necessary.

There's much more than just a mud run happening at the park during this event, too. Live music from Salvage Town, the Smokin' Peace Pipes and Undead Anna will provide the entertainment. Plus, you'll find helium balloon launches and a new "mud pie" event just for the kids. For more information about participation and event times, please check the BG Gauntlet Mud Run's official website below.
